Whenever I make a cuppa tea, I always make sure to put enough water in the kettle for one cup, as that's all I need. It then takes around 2 minutes to boil and then by the time it's ready to pour, I've managed to fit in a daily task to make me feel like I haven't wasted any time waiting. I can then take the cup with a splash of milk and the bag left in, and let it do its own thing whilst I crack on with work again. What on earth can you do in 2 minutes I hear you ask? Quite a lot apparently and I have kindly listed my findings in no particular order:
Brushing your teeth, brushing your partners teeth, emptying the bins, filling up the bird feeders, refreshing the bird bath water, re-stocking the monkey nuts for the squirrels, telling your other half that you love them, bleaching the toilet, making a paper crane, clipping your toes nails, peeling 5 large potatoes, portioning up a raw chicken, thoroughly washing your hands, texting a friend to see how they are doing or quite simply... Nothing. Sometimes it's just nice to just wait for the kettle to boil and do nothing. 9 times out of 10 that's what I do.
